Daft Punk. Alive 2007 Tour
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Daft Punk’s concert was one of those special experiences I wouldn’t trade for all the money in the world. I’ve never felt more connected and “part of something” then I did during that one and a half hour D.J. set. There is nothing like dancing in a mass of people to remind you that we are all part of this giant thing called humanity. It was a beautiful thing. Knowing that these robots, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter put so much thought into creating this “experience” for their fans is what makes it so special. As a recent interview with The Fader magazine revealed, “Bangalter and de Homem-Christo see themselves as working in the tradition of pop art, using the accessible to reveal larger truths. The revelations, however, are about Daft Punk itself, their own mysterious creation. “We like the idea that each time you add a piece of art or you add an album, you open up a side of a cube or a diamond,” says Bangalter. “Every piece brings a new light or adds a new nuance.” It’s all about discovery.
